Form Wizard No Solution

Unread post by saintsmylie »

Hey there, hope all is well. Just wanted to get some clarification. I went through all of the topics and found a topic about this but there was no solution provided. There seems to be no Form Wizard function to populate fields from an existing table as there was in v3.Does everything have to be inputted manually?

Hi,

you can use the Fast Form Builder in v4. It works for existing tables too.

BTW, Fast Form will fail to create a form if there's not primary key.

Do I have to type in all of the table heading names and everything else or does it populate from the selected table as with v3?

You can scroll through the field names using the arrow up and down keys.

Thank you soo very much. So if this weren't obvious to other people, like me, when you are in the Fast Form page, once you select the "Form type" and move to "Table Name" you can use the up/down directional arrows to select existing tables within the nuBuilder database. Once your table is selected you may click on the input type that you would like the form to have. This will populate the "Label" and "Field name" fields, where you can change the "Label" to the label you would like the field to have, then once you are in the "Field name" field, again you may use the up/down directional arrows to select column headings from your table within the existing nuBuilder database table. This is how you may pre-populate them without having to type them individually.

THANKS AGAIN!!!
