Clarification on update process needed please

I would like to update the nuBuilder files and have read the fairly limited information in the on line guide. It seems like the process is a bit more automated in the more recent versions and just relies on downloading the github files into a directory then running the update button via globeadmin. Is this correct? If so, does it matter where I download the files to? Can I put them in a folder on my local pc rather than the server?
