Clarification on update process needed please

I would like to update the nuBuilder files and have read the fairly limited information in the on line guide. It seems like the process is a bit more automated in the more recent versions and just relies on downloading the github files into a directory then running the update button via globeadmin. Is this correct? If so, does it matter where I download the files to? Can I put them in a folder on my local pc rather than the server?

Just a follow up to this. I've updated my nubuilder files and also run the update from Globeadmin. How or where can I see what version of nubuildier is in use? There doesn't seem to be an 'about' or 'info' tab anywhere.
