is Linux on backend and windows on frontend supported?

Q1)
I am planning to setup an environment such that MySQL and Apache runs on a Linux server and users be able to run a customized nuBuilder application on the Windows browser. Would I be able to achieve that? If so which download package do I need to use? Also for development in such environment where PHP should be installed, Windows or Linux?

Q2)
Does nuBuilder support Oracle as the backend database? If so, could you please point me to the right link with more info on how to set it up?

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

A1)
Download the build for the server you want to use, in your case Linux. It won't matter if the users have Windows, Linux or a Mac browser.
PHP, MYSQL and Apache all need to be installed on the server.

A2)
nuBuilder doesn't currently support Oracle (only MYSQL). In the future we hope to make this an option.

Steven

Q1.1)
So would I be able to do the nuBuilder application development on the Windows side while PHP, MYSQL and Apache are on Linux?

Thanks,
Bob

Absolutely!

Both developers who log in as globeadmin get the same view (with some extra buttons on the setup tab -including a report writer, and a few shortcuts) as users do.

Remember, all this is done through the web browser, so as long as you have internet or intranet access to the server nuBuilder is installed on, it doesn't matter what OS you are running / doing you development from.

It also means you can create nuBuilder applications from any internet cafe in the world!

Steven

Here's a video showing nuBuilder's developer shortcuts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4ktuWQf ... r_embedded
