Hi,
How can we translate the UI to Spanish?
Is there any easy way to do that?
Thanks a lot!
Pablo

Localization?
Re: Localization?
Pablo,
If you can convert the phases in this attached spreadsheet to Spanish, sorry I don't know Spanish, I'll create a simple plug-in for it and make it available for download.
(These are the phrases used in the blank module - we call it the vanilla site)
(if anyone else is willing to do this with any other latin based language, I'll make a plug-in for it too)
regards
Steve

Re: Localization?
Attached is a list of suggested translations. I'm a North American, living in Colombia, so my Spanish is not perfect, but my Colombiana wife seems to understand it. You may wish to get a second opinion.

Re: Localization?
Hi!
I suggest to use gettext() for localisation, it is possible to use a PO-EDITOR to create the necessary language files in a common way.
Users then could upload the generated code and your language-base is growing...
I also suggest to offer configuration options:
- which CodePage for the output? UTF-8 or other? With UTF-8 as default
- which collation uses the database
It is the same dilemma as usual: a great idea, but only limited to english or american-english speaking people....
but the world has more than one codepage, luckily!
I would like to use nuBuilder, but I need german output with umlauts and I hope you will integrate this multilanguage-functionality soon
Cheers, Connie

Re: Localization?
Hi Connie,
Thanks for the suggestion. So far we haven't looked into how to localize nuBuilder much. As it stands, pretty much the only text that there is to localize is stored in nuBuilder's database records, or more specifically, the zzsys_* tables. Changing that text is easy enough, and even creating a system which allows for easy language changing, but there will be a bit more work required as we have had reports that data entered in non-ASCII characters does not save in the database correctly.
Localization is on our TODO list though, and if you have any more suggestions or are willing to work with us on making nuBuilder support localization, just let us know. I'll keep you updated on our progress with it.
Regards,
Michael

Re: Localization?
Hi nuBuilder's team!
I need to translate the user interface in the local language.
I know, change the hard coded strings is quite easy and fast, but why not make something better?
Have you already taken a decision about localization?
I have an idea on it, but I would like to know if you're just working on it.
Sorry if I re-open an old post.michael wrote:...

Re: Localization?
If there is any interest in it, I'd be happy to provide translations to Dutch (I'm a native speaker).
