Lookup Selection Not Appearing

Hi-
Hope someone can help. I've searched around and couldn't find anything.
I'm trying to set up a basic Lookup Object. So far, when you go to the edit screen (of an existing record), it displays the current info correctly, and auto-complete works correctly.
But, when you click the magnifying glass, open the Lookup Form, and select a row there, it doesn't enter the info back in the edit form. In fact, I believe it blanks out any previous info, if you were trying to change the entry.
I've compared my set up to the sample, and I can't see anything different, and the sample works correctly.
Does anyone know what might be causing this?
