You are right. The problem is only with IE. It works fine with FireFox and Chrome.

Thanks to you and the others for suggesting that IE is the problem.

I should add that when I use FireFox, I regularly get an 'alter table' error especially if I make multiple changes at the same time. Usually I just have to refresh the screen to see the correction. Sometimes I have to redo the change.

But at least it works.
