Warning: addslashes() error after upgrade

I now get the following PHP error in all PHP iFrame Objects after performing upgrade:

Warning: addslashes() expects parameter 1 to be string, object given in /home/xxx/junioruniversity.org/nubuilder/nucommon.php on line 549

This problem is a bit more serious, it is effecting all report printing as well. Basically most calls to the PHP procedures are failing with some slight variation of the same message.

Is there any work around or way to back up/export my custom work, re-install the previous version and re-import my objects?

Any help or ideas are appreciated.
