Adding HTML Links to Database

I have added a text object to my database form to allow a user to include an html link to an outside folder. Each time I type the code into the form field, it adds a "\" to the beginning of the link, creating a path to nuBuilder before the URL... How do I stop this from happening so that when the link is clicked, it will load the outside source?
