Hi,
The Formula Builder should allow manual entry (similar to the SQL Builder's "Edit Manually")
Why...? - Because you can't modify existing formulas without clearing the formula field first. Especially with long formulas this is rather tedious.
( Well, I have my workaround but I thought other users would appreciate it too )

I guess no answer means no. That would be really useful. But I have my workaround.
