A new starter

Unread post by Alexander »

Hello Forum

I am a completely new member and also completely new to PHP and MySQL.

I use Serif Web Plus X4 software and have been getting great help from their forum as I wish to publish a database of results on our web site.

I can access my php MyAdmin and have placed a database of results which I can view live and feel quite pleased about it.

When I asked to be able to sort on dates, members etc I was told I needed to purchase phpRunner and was shocked to see the price !!!.

So I have looked around and being an able MS Access programmer I saw your advert stating it was the same as MS Access so have joined your forum to understand what it all about?

I have yet to download NU Builder as I was unsure which version to download and wanted to ask if I am on the right track?

Will this system be able to sort on race dates, members names etc with simple drop down options?

Any pointers and help and advice would be appreciated.

Regards

Alexander,

nuBuilder will require some SQL skills and if you want to get clever, then php and JavaScript as well.

This video will explain the way nuBuilder sorts and filters via a Browse Form that can then be exported.

Always download the latest version and the Windows build if you are using Windows.

Thanks Steven ..

I will be have a the option of either an Access database table or excel or csv file with all the race data.

My idea was to allow Club members to view all the seasons results and for them to filter on date or race or member as they chose.

I will now download the latest version of NuBuilder and watch the associated videos and see if i can manage to upload and use on ore web site.

Thanks for the help.
