I just wanted to write saying that, for me at least, the current (V2.7.4.1) software is working exactly as I expect and like with regards to can-grow text fields!!!
If I set the field can-grow = false, I can now reserve the actual physical size of a "box" area and it will insert the data correctly! (For example, an address box)
If I set the field can-grow= true, I can now specify how "tall" a line is and let it 'grow' by as many 'lines' as needed if the data is more than one line (example would be a description for an invoice line item -- work performed)..
