Cannot add record

Unread post by vtcnc »

I have the subscription based installation and am following on with the Pizzeria tutorial. When I get to the section where I add records to the customer database, there is nothing displayed on the screen? Any ideas as to what is going on? I'm using Windows 10 and Chrome, but the same problem occurs on Ubuntu/Chrome and Windows 7/Edge. I just can't see any of the field displayed when trying to add a record to the customer table.

vtcnc,

Can you show us some screenshots - it might help to understand what's going on.

I created a shared album with four photos contained within.

vtcnc,

That should be fixed now on Github.

(You will need to run the Update button after doing a pull)

I guess I'm not sure how pulling from Github would help my installation on the test environment available via the subscription service. Regardless, I downloaded the files and installed via XAAMP. I get all kinds of errors when trying to run from a local installation.

Back to the test environment. I updated the files from the menu in the online test environment. No change in the customer table. I also get a similar result (nothing on display) when I try to add a record to the other tables as setup from the tutorial.

I deleted the local installation and went back to the test environment - still the same result.

That's not going anywhere. Check if all fields have been created (Setup->Objects). This is a prerequisite for the fields to be displayed at all.
It is always advisable to keep the developer console open. Check if errors are output.

If you dump your db to an .sql-file and upload it e.g. to http://www.tinyupload.com/ I'll have a look at it. Remove/replace any confidential data, if there are any.
